Hello! My name is Emerald (they/them), I am a self-taught multimedia artist, writer and photographer based in Naarm (Melbourne) Australia. I am a sentimental k33psnak3, I love documenting, collecting and re-creating memories, experiences and visuals of the ever-changing world we share. My work seeks to motivate the collective growth of humanity and strengthening of community through recognising the beauty and the ugliness of humankind in a manner that fosters inspiration and hope. I believe that the restoration of our faith in humanity and the power of community is key to our survival. 

My work is informed by ongoing research and analysis of subjects related to anthropocentrism, individualism, environmental / social justice and human behavioural psychology. These topics are explored through poetry and otherworldly creation, then expanded upon visually with multimedia art, set design and creation, and photography. The intelligence of nature and biomimicry is particularly inspiring to me, and I am currently working towards incorporating related subjects into my practice. 

Manual multiple exposure is a prominent feature of my film photography, a technique that layers two or more images in a single frame. I enjoy making multi-layered art that plays with human tendencies of pattern seeking. Often, my work is printed on a variety of textured or patterned media, featuring details like embossing, spray painting, airbrushing, engraving, collage work and customised frames.
